“…34 These data, similar to those of others, 32,35 suggest that cryomyolysis is potentially a minimally invasive, safe, and feasible alternative to hysterectomy, myomectomy, and other procedures and medications for the treatment of uterine myomas in selected patients. Our experience suggests that this procedure is also highly effective at resolving heavy menstrual bleeding in patients affected with uterine leiomyomas.…”

“…For larger myomas, to obtain a reduction of the blood supply from both the serosa and from the endometrial vessels, a strategy of freezing the myoma superficially and then deeply using additional incisions is suggested. The number of holes necessary to achieve adequate myolysis is based on both the diameter of the myoma, and the known size of the ice ball to be expected during the freezing process [32][33][34][35] (Figs. 3, 4).…”

“…The shrinkage rate after 12 months was 72% (data not shown), and we think that the shrinkage of the coagulated myoma stops at 12 months after myolysis. These results show numerical superiority to thermomyolysis (50% reduction after six months) 7,13 and cryomyolysis (50% reduction after six months 14,15 and 62% reduction after 12 months) 16 with no statistical evidence. RF myolysis was performed without general anaesthesia and laparoscopic additional procedures, which is not possible in the case of thermomyolysis and cryomyolysis.…”
