Laparoscopic cholecystectomy for xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis: 18 years of experience

Abstract: Background Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis (XG) is a rare inflammatory disease of the gallbladder (GB), macroscopic appearance may be confused with gallbladder cancer (GC) making the diagnosis challenging.
