The objective of this study is to evaluate the primary school second stage Turkish Education Curriculum effectuated in 2006 and the secondary school Turkish Education Curriculum effectuated in 2015 comparatively in terms of critical thinking. Of qualitative research designs, document analysis approach and content analysis were adopted for the study. The elements of aforementioned curriculums such as teaching approach, overall objectives, basic approach, basic skills, basic language skills, achievements, elements and methods were analyzed in terms of critical thinking. Both Turkish Education Curriculums have taken critical thinking as a basic skill, and have included critical thinking in the sections of overall objectives, basic approach and vision. On the other hand, 2006 Turkish curriculum is richer in methodological basis in terms of giving basic language skills, while 2015 Turkish curriculum is richer in terms of achievements.

Learning a foreign language offers a portal to a wide range of cultures, traditions, and viewpoints. It extends beyond linguistic learning alone; hence, teaching foreign languages has grown to be an essential aspect of life for people. A solid command of a second language fosters understanding between people from different linguistic backgrounds and improves intercultural awareness. Additionally, it gives students the self-assurance they need to participate successfully in global spheres like international trade, diplomacy, academia, and scientific research. The present study addresses general aspects of foreign language teaching in Turkey, the value of learning a foreign language, a brief historical overview of foreign language teaching in Turkey, and difficulties in teaching foreign languages, such as problems in pre-service training of foreign language teachers, employment practices for foreign language teachers, physical conditions for teaching a foreign language, educational materials, teaching methods, and teaching management and supervision. The findings showed that Turkey's foreign language education faces a variety of challenges entailing a comprehensive strategy which includes multiple solutions and the active participation of all system stakeholders. As a result, a holistic and collaborative strategy comprised of multiple solutions and active participation from all system stakeholders is required.

Bu araştırmada amaç, argümantasyon yönteminin eleştirel düşünme becerisi üzerine etkisini incelemektir. Bu araştırmanın modeli meta-analizdir. Araştırmada 2012-2022 yılları arasında argümantasyon yönteminin eleştirel düşünme becerileri üzerine etkisinin incelendiği 140 çalışmaya ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmalar içinde dahil edilme kriterlerini karşılayan 19 çalışma araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada, farklı çalışmaların sonuçlarının birleştirilmesi işlemi için rastgele etkiler modeli (random effects model) kullanılmış ve bu modele göre orta büyüklüğe sahip ortalama etki büyüklüğü hesaplanmıştır. Araştırmaya dahil edilen çalışmaların kategorik değişkenlerinin etki büyüklükleri hesaplanmış ve aralarında anlamlı farklılık olmadığı görülmüştür. Çalışmalar arasında yüksek düzeyde heterojenlik olduğu görülmüştür. Meta-regresyon analizi sonucunda çalışmalar arasındaki heterojenliğin kaynağının öğretim kademesi, çalışma deseni ve çalışma süresinin birlikte ele alındığı model olduğu görülmüştür. Bu araştıramaya dahil edilen çalışmalar arasında yayın yanlılığının bulunmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
