Landslide Hazard Analysis using Landsat-8 OLI and AHP Technique in Tanjung Bungah, Penang

Abstract: Various technique and application have been used in determining the hazard analysis. AHP technique was chosen for this study in effort to find the most factors cause the landslide in the study area. The aim of this study is to determine the factors of landslide hazard using satellite imagery Landsat-8 OLI and Analytic Hierarchy Technique (AHP) in Tanjung Bungah, Penang. This study embarks on three objectives which are to identify the parameter involved in landslide hazard based on surface characteristics, to d… Show more

“…Some functional operations are implemented in the GIS-MCDM approach, such as Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and weighting. AHP method is a flexible and simple Multi-criteria Analysis (MCA) and it has been largely explored in the literature related to location identification as conducted in several studies in Malaysia (Saad et al, 2021;Mohd Zaini., 2021;Rasam et al, 2017;Abdul Rasam et al, 2016;Mamat et al, 2014;Othman et al, 2021). AHP is recognized for its ability to consider tangible and intangible criteria in giving solutions to a multi-criteria problem.…”

“…This geospatial technology used to acquire, manage, interpret, display, and analyse the related data of safe routes during landslide hazards. Previous studies have proven that the virtuous capabilities of the GIS-MCDM method utilised in environmental and natural disaster applications (Abdul Rasam et al, 2016;Mohd Zubir et al, 2022;Mohd Zaini et al, 2021;Mohamad Nor Sing et al, 2022;Rasam et al, 2017;Ridzuan et al, 2017;Saad et al, 2021).…”

“…Additional information, such as location, voltage, and information on electrical distribution, can be provided using GIS. The possibilities of GIS for managing electricity in a building have been practically proved in earlier studies (Saad N, 2021;Pullinger & Johnson 2010). This spatial technique has also been combined with MCDM/MCE to determine whether a certain application is appropriate (Ahmadi, S. et al, 2008;Mohd Zaini J C et al,2021).…”
