Abstract:Lamprey antibodies, the variable lymphocyte receptor B proteins (VLRB), have unique properties that make them promising alternatives to jawed vertebrate immunoglobulin domain antibodies. These leucinerich repeat proteins exhibit a diversity on par with that of jawed vertebrate antibodies but are structurally completely distinct. VLRB antibodies have been successfully raised to a variety of antigens. A procedure for high-throughput screening of full-length lamprey VLRB libraries using whole cells is described h… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
