Abstract: Fourteen Gram-stain-positive bacterial strains were isolated from Chinese traditional pickle and yogurt. The strains were characterized using a polyphasic taxonomic approach, including 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, pheS gene sequence analysis, rpoA gene sequence analysis, fatty acid methyl ester analysis, determination of DNA G+C content, determination of average nucleotide identity (ANI), in silico DNA-DNA hybridization (isDDH) and an analysis of phenotypic features. The data demonstrated that the 14 strai… Show more

“…Strain YH-lac23 T produced two types of lactic acid: d-(3 %) and l-lactate (97 %). This is similar to strain L. porcinae KCTC 21027 T [35]; however, L. daqingensis JCM 33273 T [34] and L. manihotivorans KCTC 21010 T [36] can only produce l-lactate. The dominant whole-cell fatty acids (mean values >10 % of whole cellular fatty acids) of the isolate were C 18 : 1 ω9c (55.8 %) and C 16 : 0 (26.2 %).…”

“…The dominant whole-cell fatty acids (mean values >10 % of whole cellular fatty acids) of the isolate were C 18 : 1 ω9c (55.8 %) and C 16 : 0 (26.2 %). The same dominant cellular fatty acids were also detected in L. daqingensis JCM 33273 T , although at different percentages [34]. The closely related strains L. porcinae KCTC 21027 T and L. manihotivorans KCTC 21010 T also contained summed feature 7 as the major cellular fatty acid, different from the isolate.…”

“…The names of the following 11 new combinations were derived from basonyms that were not validly published at the time the paper was submitted for publication. The corresponding basonyms were published in articles in the same issue of the IJSEM on pages preceding those of the Zheng et al article [3, 4]. The following comb.…”
