“…Procalcitonin and blood leucocytes have both been previously described as predictive of adverse disease courses and mortality in COVID-19 and indicate an exaggerated inflammatory response. 37 D-dimer and lactate dehydrogenase, additional established risk factors of severe COVID-19 courses, 38 , 39 , 40 were not independently associated with severe AKI, although they were predictive in simplified models.
