Lack of Association of Insulin Receptor Substrate Gene Polymorphisms with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome

Abstract: Sleep apnea syndrome is associated with increased prevalence of diabetes and has recently shown to be associated with insulin resistance. The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationships between insulin resistance, insulin receptor substrate-1 (IRS-1), insulin receptor substrate-2 (IRS-2) gene polymorphisms and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).
