A vehicle’s longitudinal acceleration is one the parameters that characterize a vehicle’s motion dynamics and used, among others, to assess the comfort of public bus passengers. Rapid acceleration and braking performed by urban bus drivers can be deemed by passengers as uncomfortable and dangerous in some situations, especially for standing passengers. This paper presents an analysis of a public bus’s longitudinal acceleration recorded during extreme acceleration and braking attempts. The experimental tests were conducted on dry and wet asphalt and concrete surfaces. The test results allow for the statement that lateral acceleration depends largely on the road’s surface and its type. The maximum longitudinal acceleration values during rapid acceleration, depending on the surface, are within the narrow range of 2.18-2.81 m/s2. During braking, a public bus’s minimum longitudinal acceleration was within the range of -5.58÷-8.54 m/s2.

This paper deals with the issues of the impact of vertical vibrations on a child seated in a child seat during a journey. Its purpose was to assess the impact of fastening the child seats and road conditions on the level of vibrations recorded on child seats. The paper describes the tested child seats, the methodology of the tests and the test apparatus included in the measuring track. The tests were carried out in real road conditions where the child seats were located on the rear seat of a passenger vehicle. One was attached with standard seat belts, and the other with the ISOFIX base. When driving on roads with three types of surface, the following vertical accelerations were measured: seat of the child seats, the rear seat of the vehicle and the ISOfix base. The recorded accelerations were first analyzed in the time domain and then in the frequency domain. Three indexes (r.m.s, rmq and VDV) were used to assess the vibration comfort. Research has shown that the classic method of fastening a child seat with standard seat belts is more advantageous in terms of vibration comfort. Calculated indicators confirmed the negative impact of separating the child seat from the rear seat of the vehicle using the IQ ISOFIX base.

Optimization of New Energy Vehicle Road Noise Problem Based on Finite Element Analysis Method

In the use of new energy vehicles, user experience has always been the key project of major manufacturers. At present, the research on user experience focuses on the posture performance of the vehicle itself, and less attention is paid to road noise. Therefore, this study takes the road noise problem of new energy vehicles as the object. The finite element analysis method is chosen for modeling. And the research on the optimization of road noise is carried out. After modeling, the correctness of the model was tested, and all four modes were controlled within the modal error range of 5%. When the new energy vehicle based on this model ran at 80 km/h, the peak road noise was reduced by about 11 dB(A). In addition, after optimizing the tire, the peak value decreased by 4 dB(A). After optimizing the transverse stinger of the rear suspension, the Z-bending mode was increased by 22.3 Hz. Compared with the previous basic scheme, the optimization effect was obvious. When the optimized new energy vehicle ran at a speed of 60 km/h, the peak value is reduced by about 5 dB(A) on the rough road with a frequency of 65 Hz. The results showed that, under the proposed method, the road noise problem was improved, the peak value of the problem was eliminated, and the expected acceptable range was reached.
