Penelitian ini menginvestigasi dampak dari kepatuhan pajak, perlindungan hukum, dan akses perizinan terhadap keberlangsungan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Kota Semarang dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif. Melalui sampel 176 pemilik atau manajer UMKM, data dikumpulkan dan dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan Partial Least Squares (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh positif yang signifikan dari kepatuhan pajak dan perlindungan hukum terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM, sedangkan pengaruh langsung dari akses perizinan terhadap keberlanjutan tidak signifikan secara statistik. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya kepatuhan terhadap peraturan dan kerangka hukum dalam mendorong ketahanan dan keberlanjutan usaha. Para pembuat kebijakan dapat memanfaatkan wawasan ini untuk mengembangkan intervensi yang ditargetkan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan lingkungan bisnis bagi UMKM di Kota Semarang, sehingga mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi dan penciptaan lapangan kerja di tingkat lokal.

The effects of psychological capital, work engagement and job autonomy on job performance in platform flexible employees

The performance of platform flexible employees is a core element that contributes to the rapid growth of the sharing economy platform. It is crucial to explore strategies to improve employees' performance with the growing competition among these platforms. Only a handful of research evidence has been found evaluating platform flexible employees' psychological capital and work engagement to improve their performance. In order to remedy the gap, we draw on self-determination theory to develop a moderated mediation model, which examines how psychological capital affects platform flexible employees' job performance. We employed hierarchical regression analysis to test the theoretical model and carried out two rounds of surveys, resulting in 474 valid paired questionnaires. The questionnaire assessed the psychological capital, work engagement, job performance, and job autonomy of flexible platform employees. The results indicate that work engagement plays a mediating role between psychological capital affects platform flexible employees' job performance. Moreover, job autonomy moderates the mediating effect. The findings not only contribute to the literature on employees' psychological capital and job performance, but also broaden the research scope of self-determination theory, and provide new ideas for improving the job performance of platform flexible employees.

How job satisfaction affects professionalization behavior of new-generation construction workers: a model based on theory of planned behavior

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to explore the influence mechanism of new-generation construction workers (NGCWs)’ job satisfaction on the professionalization behavior in China, through theory of planned behavior (TPB), and find the key path to promote the professionalization behavior of China’s construction workers.Design/methodology/approachA theoretical model of influence mechanism was established through literature research and theoretical deduction based on TPB and structural equation model. The scale of variables was developed, and an empirical study was employed with a sample of 823 NGCWs in China.FindingsThe results indicate that job satisfaction can positively affect NGCWs' professionalization behavior. Subjective norm, attitude and perceived behavior control play mediating roles in the influence process. Job satisfaction is more likely to act on professionalization behavior through subjective norm and behavioral intention.Research limitations/implicationsResearch results sorely suggest a short-term law about the influence mechanism of NGCWs' job satisfaction on professionalization behavior through a questionnaire study from China’s construction industry. Future research ought to continue to use a longitudinal study to examine it over a considerable amount of time. The results also need to be verified using data from young construction workers in other nations.Practical implicationsThis study provides a theoretical basis and feasible management reference for government and construction enterprises in China to promote NGCWs' professionalization behavior from the perspective of job satisfaction. Furthermore, the promotion of NGCWs' job satisfaction and professionalization behavior can do good to building industrialization, sustainable development and high-quality transformation of labor force in the construction industry.Originality/valueThis paper demonstrates the positive influence of job satisfaction on professionalization behavior of NGCWs and finds the most effective affecting path. It fills the research gap about the influence mechanism of job satisfaction on young construction workers' professionalization behavior and enriches the theoretical system of planned behavior of construction workers.
