Show more

“…Urban systems are organized hierarchically into diverse and interrelated socio-residential areas, some favoured by dynamics of different kinds, and others disadvantaged where social and residential risks meet. One of the ways by which this hierarchical structure has been studied is from the concept of urban vulnerability (Alguacil, 2006) and its operationalization in indexes that enable to know the different degrees of vulnerability of urban areas (Antón-Alonso, Porcel, Cruz and Coll, 2020; Antón-Alonso and Cruz- Gómez, 2022). This hierarchical structure seems very stable at its extremes, being the most vulnerable and welloff neighbourhoods those which perpetuate their status the most.…”

“…In the Spanish context, some longitudinal analyses have been carried out on vulnerable neighbourhoods producing evidence on the patterns of persistence and the trajectories of vulnerable neighbourhoods (Uceda, Sorando y Leal, 2018;Antón-Alonso and Cruz-Gómez, 2022). However, these studies have limitations regarding the time period analysed and the neighbourhoods considered.…”
