“…Of the 72 cases treated with tromexan only one who reached the "danger-zones" bled, when haematemesis resulted from an active duodenal ulcer. Dicoumarol compares unfavourably in this respect, and it seems unwise to assess the patient's reaction to the coumarin drugs purely on prothrombin levels (Bickel and Della Santa, 1949). Frequent search was made for microscopical haematuria.…”
