The present research focuses on the Orizaba peak, the tallest volcano in Mexico and one of the Natural Protected Areas of the Veracruz state. Without disregarding detailed information about the volcano's geographic location, climate, and the most representative species inhabiting the area, the environmental, social, and economic benefits that this protected area provides to nearby populations are highlighted. Additionally, the studies demonstrating how environmental conservation can have a positive impact on the local economy are specified. Likewise, the role of education in imparting knowledge related to volcanoes and the different aspects to be considered within the same topic is analysed.
