“…Parenting is one of the key concerns raised by women on remand (Jones et al, 2019). Knudsen (2019) characterizes the children of incarcerated parents in Canada as ‘invisible’, and this exclusion from policy serves three purposes:
First, children tend to be framed as instruments of their prisoner parents by systems that affect them including both prisons and prisoner rights organisations.
