Abstract:Se describen y analizan los discursos periodísticos estadounidenses durante la apertura de las conferencias de Washington celebradas entre Chile y Perú en 1922. Partiendo del supuesto teórico que la prensa es un actor político que construye los acontecimientos que tematiza, se efectuó un análisis de contenido a 120 noticias. La conclusión sostiene que la prensa representó las conferencias en un plano epistémico, proyectivo y político.
