L2-Betti Numbers and their Analogues in Positive Characteristic

Abstract: In this article, we give a survey of results on L 2 -Betti numbers and their analogues in positive characteristic. The main emphasis is made on the Lück approximation conjecture and the strong Atiyah conjecture.
