Abstract: Souvent négligé dans le débat historiographie français, l'objet est un document matériel susceptible d'ouvrir des nouvelles perspectives de recherche. Dans les dernières années la découverte de la matérialité de ce document a déplacé l'attention des formes symboliques de l'appropriation des objets aux gestes que l'objet participe à configurer par sa manipulation.
