Abstract:False friends in phraseology as a translation problem This paper presents the problem of translating false friends in phraseology. In addition, it illustrates the differences in the translation strategies of different groups of respondents and proves that false friends in the text can be avoided if they are known and if a particular vigilance is kept when translating lexically equivalent phraseological items.
