However, Wagner (1950) believed that the virilization was due to destruction of the ovaries with unopposed adrenal activity, while Chatys-Skirzynska (1 962) noted a proliferation of ovarian hilar cells, and Zawadzka-Ruzyllo (1961) noted numerous nests of Leydig cells in the ovarian hilus, and "interstitial" cells were seen in the stroma.…”
