Abstract: KommentareDie Influenza ist eine hochinfektiöse Erkrankung, deren Morbidität und Mortalität kaum zu unterschätzen ist. In der Influenzasaison 2001/02, die noch als moderat einzustufen ist, erfolgten allein in Deutschland ca. 2 Mio. Arztkonsultationen aufgrund von Influenza-typischer Symptomatik. Daraus resultierten etwa 800000 Fälle von Arbeitsunfähigkeit und zwischen 5000 und 8000 Krankenhauseinweisungen.
