Auswirkungen der Couchsurfing-Community auf urbane Räume und (neue) Herausforderungen für die soziale Arbeit Internationale Freiwilligendienste, Erasmus, Backpacken, Work and Travel und nicht zuletzt Couchsurfing: Auf (längere) Reisen fernab des ‚klassischen Tourismus' zu gehen, liegt für junge Erwachsene hoch im Trend und wird in der Jugendforschung als Jugendmobilität bezeichnet. In diesem Beitrag wird Jugendmobilität im Rahmen einer ethnografischen Forschung (sie fand im Zusammenhang mit meinem Dissertationsvorhaben in deutschen und lateinamerikanischen Städten statt) in der Couchsurfing-Community kritisch beleuchtet. Es wird die Frage diskutiert, wie und welche junge(n) Erwachsene urbane Räume der Couchsurfing-Community mitprägen und welche Auswirkungen dies auf die urbanen Räume hat und gleichzeitig diskutiert, welchen (neuen) Herausforderungen sich die soziale Arbeit in diesem Feld zu stellen hat.
