CHF pro Jahr, also gegen 1… Show more

“…Steel corrosion is the most common cause of premature deterioration of reinforced concrete structures. Given the substantial economic impact associated with this durability problem [1,2], numerical modelling of reinforcement corrosion has received increasing levels of attention in recent years [3][4][5][6][7][8]. However, predicting the durability of reinforced concrete structures exposed to corrosive conditions remains to be a considerable challenge [9].…”

“…A longer service life is anticipated due to the corrosion resistance of FRPs, which also lowers future maintenance costs. Corrosion-related damages are the main cost drivers for steel-reinforced concrete infrastructure [22][23][24][25]. Hence, the avoidance of corrosion could justify higher initial costs.…”

“…Chloride-induced corrosion of reinforcement in concrete is known to be the most frequent deterioration mechanism for infrastructure objects (British Cement Association, 1997;fib -task group 5.8, 2011) and causes therefore high costs (Koch, 2017(Koch, , 2002Yilmaz & Angst, 2020). Typically, condition assessment of existing engineering structures includes measuring chloride profiles and comparing the results with the so-called critical chloride content C crit , which is given in standards and textbooks (fib, 2006;SIA, 2011).…”
