Koreografi Interkultural: Mengkokohkan Identitas Budaya Melalui Kolaborasi Seni Pada Bandung Isola Performing Art Festival (BIPAF)

Abstract

This scientific article describes the process of creating blended intercultural dance works on the Bandung Isola Performance Art Festival (BIPAF) stage involving choreographers from Indonesia, the Netherlands, India, Malaysia and America virtually and in real life. Intercultural choreography is a collaboration between artistic elements from different cultures so that different ideas, movements, music and cultural traditions can be exchanged. This activity is an art form that inspires and connects people from various cultural backgrounds. The method used is action research. Through a qualitative paradigm, this method is used to describe data in an actual, realistic and systematic manner in creating collaborative dance works. Data collection was carried out using interviews, participant observation, document study, focus group discussions, and reflection. The result of the research is the creation of new choreography in the technique of creating dance works between countries on the BIPAF stage through the blended intercultural concept. Blended intercultural choreographic performances are useful for choreographers, dancers, composers, animators and other artists in creating intercultural choreography from a collaborative process by creating opportunities to share knowledge, techniques and experiences from different cultures that cannot be separated by time and space.
