Abstract:Erythrocyte fragility is the reaction of the erythrocyte membrane to oppose the osmotic pressure of the surrounding solution. Several influencing factors are haemoglobin levels, erythrocyte shape, erythrocyte lifespan, and lipoprotein content of the erythrocyte membrane.
