The development of economic institutions through business groups and Village-Owned Enterprises has become the foundation of the economy at the regional, urban and national levels. The study used the qualitative Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) method to identify community problems and potentials and understand deeply the situation of a community. The research targets are the Soto Klamud Business Group and the Peanut and Seed Economic Business Group which are located in the Toyareja Village, in Purbalingga. which can be used as examples of success in other research locations, namely the Kartadesa Village Owned Enterprise in Sambak Village, Kajoran District, Magelang Regency of Central Java. The data is collected through interviews, documentation, observation, and Participatory Decision Making (PDM). In addition, the informants have decided purposively namely the management of business groups and village-owned enterprises, village governments, and customers. The study used qualitative data analysis by collecting data, reducing, categorizing, verifying, triangulating, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that: (1) The process of developing socio-economic engineering in business groups must be supported by universities or academics and social institutions as activists who sustainably care about community empowerment by conducting counseling, training on institutional and business management as well as marketing, and assisting with access to partnerships. (2) Sustainable development in culinary tourism can be realized through empowerment programs such as counseling, training, and mentoring for the younger generation to become successful entrepreneur.

Islamic boarding schools can act as religious education institutions and also become institutions of social and economic education in improving the welfare of pesantren, santri, alumni and their fellow communities. The research aims to design a model of development communication through the santri economic empowerment program in Islamic boarding school education. Using Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), the selection of informants purposively, consisting of boarding schools, religious teachers, santri and community leaders. Data collection through documentation analysis, direct observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Participatory Decision Making (PDM). Research location in Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School, Beber Cirebon, West Java. Analysis of research data using interactive analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and verification and conclusion. The results of the study show that pesantren can design a communication model for counseling and empowerment of santri economics through entrepreneurship and cooperative material in the education curriculum as a choice or additional lesson for santri along with practical and internship programs. Santri will have entrepreneurial skills, independence and welfare, create harmony with the community and anticipate the negative stigma of boarding schools that are exclusive, closed and radical.

Community participation is an important part of the implementation of community empowerment, which is generally carried out in the village. Women's participation, as a form of reducing gender inequality, contributes to efforts to maintain and develop tourism villages. The research aims to analyze the practice of women's participation in Cikakak Tourism Village. The research method used is a mixed method with data collection techniques including distributing questionnaires, conducting Focus Group Discussions, conducting in-depth interviews, and observation. The research informants include women's participation actors, such as family welfare empowerment groups, women farmers groups, business groups, and the village head. The research employs a qualitative research approach with a case study methodology. The results of the study show that women's participation in Cikakak Tourism Village has been carried out voluntarily and democratically, involving them in the process of planning and decision-making for Tourism Village activities, with a tendency towards a representative system. The women have contributed in various forms, such as in-kind contributions, labor, expertise or skills, and monetary contributions, which are adjusted based on the individual's capabilities. The most common form of contribution made by women is in the form of labor.
