This study has four purposes and the first determines the improved ability of junior high school students to write fantasy stories, while the second observes their learning motivation. The third purpose was to identify the relationship between these two aspects, while the fourth observed the difficulties experienced in composing these stories. All the assessments employed discovery learning, which was assisted by animated film media and compared with conventional methods. Meanwhile, the study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population comprised seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri in Purwakarta for the 2019/2020 school year. Furthermore, the samples were taken from random subjects, while the instrument included a test, which evaluated the ability to write fantasy stories, and a non-test, which was a student learning motivation questionnaire. The conclusion was based on the research results and data analysis of the two-gain difference tests and n-gain. It revealed that the ability of junior high school students to write fantasy stories using discovery learning methods assisted by animation film media was better than with conventional methods. Also, the motivation that employed the discovery of learning assisted by animated film media was more enhanced than conventional methods. Therefore, a positive relationship exists between learning motivation and writing fantasy stories for these students. The difficulties experienced when writing these stories concerned the knowledge aspect and entailed answering questions about the purpose and summarizing the contents of the narrative text.

Writing skills in Indonesian are still a major challenge in learning. The focus of attention includes the need for more clarity of material, the lack of writing activities, and students' difficulty in determining topics and developing ideas. This study aims to analyze the need for developing a learning module for writing description texts with an insight into global diversity. The research method used was Mix Methode Research (MMR) involving 97 students and 6 educators in junior high school. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was done by quantitative and qualitative analysis. The study's results, first, the learning process of writing description text has yet to be achieved optimally. This is due to the lack of teaching materials and the need for students' writing activities. Second, the quality of teaching materials used in the learning process has yet to meet the material needs in accordance with the learning outcomes. Third, the character value of global diversity is one of the opportunities to be integrated with the learning process of writing description text.

Pembelajaran merupakan hal yang sangat penting ada terutama dalam dunia pendidikan. Dunia pendidikan selalu melakukan perubahan-perubahan semakin maju yang membuat pembelajaran juga harus semakin maju. Baik dalam hal materi, model, metode, media dan teknik yang digunakan saat menyampaikan pembelajaran. Namun, pada pembelajaran kita belum sepenuhnya melakukan perubahan yang lebih maju. Sebagai generasi muda, ini menjadi tantangan tersendiri untuk melakukan perubahan yang lebih baik dan keterbaruan. Dikarenakan hal tersebut, didalam pembelajaran harus adanya yang dinamakan inovasi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis cerita fantasi sebagai inovasi dalam pendidikan. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kajian Pustaka. Cerita fantasi ini cocok untuk dijadikan sebagai inovasi dalam pembelajaran dikarenakan dapat membantu siswa dalam berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan inovatif. Banyak cara yang dapat dilakukan dalam membuat inovasi pembelajaran. Salah satunya dilakukan dengan menggunakan sebuah cerita fantasi dalam pembelajaran. Cerita fantasi umumnya sangat menarik digunakan pada pembelajaran. Siswa yang bisa menulis akan cerita, salah satunya mengenai cerita fantasi anak tersebut pasti memiliki pemikiran yang lebih luas untuk menalar dan berpikir kritis. . Hal tersebut membuat cerita fantasi ini cocok untuk dijadikan sebagai inovasi dalam pembelajaran
