Kombiniertes Simulationstraining: Ein neues Kurskonzept trainiert und verbessert das Krisenmanagement der gastroenterologischen Endoskopie

Abstract: Simulation training plays an essential role in aviation and minimizes the risk for human errors. In the current study it is clearly shown that simulation training is also useful in gastrointestinal endoscopy. The newly developed workshop may thus be of crucial importance to improve personal crisis management. Simulation also leads to an improvement of endoscopic and emergency skills. Accordingly, simulation training should be recommended or offered as an education option in gastrointestinal endoscopy.

“…Evidence level 5, recommendation grade A, strong consensus So far, only isolated special training guidelines exist on sedation and management of emergency situations. However, they show that specific training courses, such as those using simulators, improve physicians' confidence in handling emergency situations [385,386].…”

“…Currently, SBT is limited to polypectomies and other routine procedures, though it may be expanded to include more emergent cases. Similar to Code Blue training, Kiesslich et al[50] showed that simulation training was associated with better endoscopic performance and crisis management in endoscopic emergencies. Additionally, randomized trials in Advanced Cardiac Life Support simulation revealed improved performance in the simulator-trained groups[51].…”

“…Additionally, randomized trials in Advanced Cardiac Life Support simulation revealed improved performance in the simulator-trained groups[51]. SBT allows for trainees to practice the shared mental model and crisis resource management[50]. Further studies randomized trials can explore these concepts.…”

“…Koch et al [13 ]have demonstrated that the newer generations of simulators offer a convincing realistic representation of colonoscopy and that the simulator can discriminate between different levels of expertise. A study group in Mainz, Germany, combined a high-fidelity simulator with the Erlanger Endoscopy Trainer, and found that simulation was able to improve personal crisis management and led to an improvement of endoscopic and emergency skills [14]. …”
