“…Knebel et al . reported comparable data for the PON1‐108 polymorphism in a PCOS population and controls (PCOS vs Control, CC: 26·79% vs 20·32%; CT: 47·68% vs 62·8%; TT: 25·8% vs 16·9%) . Other authors do not report any association of PON1‐108 genotypes or alleles with PCOS .…”

“…Other authors do not report any association of PON1‐108 genotypes or alleles with PCOS . In this study, comparable C and T allelic frequencies of the PON1‐108 polymorphism were found between the two studied groups, confirming the findings by Knebel et al . Furthermore, Brophy et al .…”

“…The observed genotype frequencies were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Contingency tables, v 2 test (null hypothesis), Fisher's exact test, or Cochran-Armitage trend-tests were used to evaluate the differences in allele and genotype frequencies, as previously described [23]. The prevalence of the pathophysiological data was compared by 2-way ANOVA calculated with Prism 4.03 (GraphPad Software Inc., San Diego) or two-sided t test as indicated.…”

“…Diagnosis criteria of PCOS and a family history of metabolic diseases were excluded in the control group. Both PCOS patients and controls received no medications that have effect on glucose metabolism or endocrine parameters for at least 3 months before the entry of the study [22,23]. The Ethics committee at the Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital of Zhejiang Province approved the study protocol, and written informed consents were obtained from all participants.…”
