Kojic Acid Derivatives and Sesquiterpenes from the Aspergillus flavus GZWMJZ-288, A Fungal Endophyte of Garcinia multiflora

Abstract: One new kojic acid dimer, dikojiacid A (1), one new naturally occurring kojic acid dimer, dikojiacid B (2), one new sesquiterpene, 12-hydroxy-8-ene-3oxodrimenol (6), as well as three known kojic acid derivatives (3-5) and five sesquiterpenes (7-11) were isolated from a solid culture of the endophytic fungus Aspergillus flavus GZWMJZ-288 with Garcinia multiflora. The structures of the new compounds were determined on the basis of spectroscopic data and ECD calculation. This is the first report for the natural k… Show more

“…Among these fractions, nine compounds were purified by repeated CC. Their structures were identified to be aspertamarinoic acid (1), (−)dihydrocanadensolide (2) [10], kojic acid (3) [11], citreoisocoumarin (4) [12,13], astellolide A (5) [14], astellolide B (6) [15], astellolide G (7) [16], cyclo-N-methylphenylalanyltryptophenyl (8) [17] and (−)-ditryptophenaline (9) [18] (Figure 2) on the basis of their HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR spectra (see Figures S1-S24) and compared with those reported in the previous literature. -3 ).…”

“…The fruits are rich in nutrients; the seeds contain 50–55% oil used for manufacturing soap or as a lubricant for machines; and the bark, root, and fruit are used as a medicine to reduce inflammation, to disperse swelling, and to relieve pain. , In our continuous investigations of medicinal use of the endophytes from G. multiflora , and marine alga, the ethyl acetate (EtOAc) extracts of a solid culture of endophytic Aspergillus sp. GZWMJZ-258 derived from the fruit of G.…”
