The study adheres to a methodology for creating and standardizing test items designed to assess the knowledge of Agricultural scientists. Initially, 75 test items were identified through literature review. Subsequently, through consultation with experts, a refined set of 60 items emerged after screening, enhancement, and editing processes. These items underwent item analysis, including item difficulty index and discrimination index based on ratings from a panel of 60 experts. Thirty-four test items were retained for the standardization phase from the initial 60 items. To assess the validity of the test items, point biserial correlation was conducted, resulting in the final selection of 30 items for the knowledge test. The reliability of the test items was evaluated using the Spearman Brown split-half coefficient, yielding a value of 0.911, indicating high reliability and fairness for the study. Consequently, the standardized items proved the suitability for measuring the knowledge of Agricultural scientists.

To assess the expertise of rubber growers, a knowledge test was created. The majority of the 37 questions were created by endorsing reasonable thinking above root memorization and to distinguish between competent rubber growers who are less competent. The results of the sample respondents' scores were subjected to item analysis, which included calculating the item difficulty index and the item discrimination index. The scale used for the final selection has 17 items with difficulty indices between 36.66 and 60 and discrimination indices between 0.58 and 0.73. The reliability of the knowledge test under development was examined using the Split-Half method, and it was found to be 0.722. Aims: To construct a knowledge test to assess rubber growers’ knowledge on Rubber Plantation Development and Extension Scheme. Study Design: Descriptive study. Place and Duration of Study: Karimganj, Assam, between January 2021 and December 2022. Methodology: A no. of items were collected and 37 items were kept. The majority of the 37 questions were created by endorsing reasonable thinking above root memorization and to distinguish between competent rubber growers who are less competent. 37 questions were pretested to 30 random rubber growers. Results The results of the sample respondents' scores were subjected to item analysis, which included calculating the item difficulty index and the item discrimination index. Knowledge on farming practices helps in implementing the best practices in the farm to improve the production system to get higher returns by the farmers. Krishi Vigyan Kendras are the knowledge network centres with district as jurisdiction. Due to the limited availability of knowledge tests to measure the knowledge of Krishi Vigyan Kendra KVK beneficiary farmers on farming practices, an attempt had been made to develop a test for measuring knowledge of KVK beneficiary farmers on farming practices. For this purpose, pertinent items were collected covering all aspects of farming practices. After getting jury opinion on the items of test, the item difficulty index, item discrimination index and point bi-serial correlation were worked out. Thirty eight statements were finally selected from 60 statements to measure the knowledge of KVK beneficiary farmers on farming practices. To administer the knowledge testa score of one was given for each correct answer and zero was given for a wrong answer. Thus the standardized knowledge test developed in this study can be used to measure the knowledge of beneficiary farmers by any KVK and the respondents can be categorized into low, medium and high groups based on the mean and standard deviation.
