Abstract: Purpose Changing customer demands, needs and desires; emerging technologies; and increasing competition among firms force software development teams to develop and then implement new software projects to satisfy their customers and become more competitive in their marketplace. In this respect, knowledge sharing is critical for project success. However, although knowledge sharing among team members has been investigated by many researchers, knowledge sharing barriers among people have rarely been addressed in p… Show more

“…Moreover, we also showed that management‐related inhibitors of risk information sharing are related to the egotism, personal characteristics, and the attitudes of managers towards risk management. While previous literature on knowledge sharing barriers in an organization confirmed the findings on the negative effects of egotism and personal characteristics (Akgün et al, ), in addition to these factors, we specifically demonstrated that the attitudes of managers towards risk management have an influence on sharing of risk information. Furthermore, we found that education of managers about risk management is critical for effective risk information sharing.…”

The unit of qualitative data can be defined as where the researcher obtains data for a case study (Yin, ) and it can be individuals, group of individuals, or organizations (Akgün, Keskin, Ayar, & Okunakol, ). In this study, top managers were chosen as key informants because they have more knowledge about supply chain structure and organization decisions.…”

“…Other studies find that cultural intelligence moderates the relationship between knowledge hiding and individual creativity, but affects group creativity (Bogilovic, 2017). On the other hand, the effect of knowledge donating or hiding is observed in group leader-member dyads, and is moderated by motivational, social, economic, and cultural exchange within physical or virtual organizations such as international software development firms with multicultural teams (Dusvik, 2015;Akgün, Keskin, Ayar, & Okunakol, 2017;. The studies reviewed suggest a lack of depth in the understanding of behavioral strategies related to knowledge hiding that may explain the interactions between donors and recipients.…”
