Knowledge Retention and Loss in Brazilian Public Administration

Abstract

Purpose:The loss of knowledge poses a significant threat to organizational performance. Thus, this study examines the intricate dynamics of knowledge retention and the mitigation of knowledge loss within the context of a Brazilian national public organization operating in multimodal transportation infrastructure. Design/Methodology/Approach: Using a qualitative approach, we reviewed documents, conducted interviews with managers, and employed observational techniques, subsequently subjecting the gathered data to content analysis and triangulation.
