This study aims to conceptualize the motive of Muslim consumers’ intention toward goat’s milk purchasing in Malaysia. Two focus group discussion sessions involving 10 existing Muslim consumers’ who are purchased goat’s milk were conducted. Preliminary findings from this qualitative study showed that health and price played a significant role in Muslim consumers’ intention toward purchasing goat’s milk. Other three motives of Muslim consumers’ intention toward purchasing goat’s milk is taste, religiosity and nutritious. Recommendation for future studies is provided at the end of the paper.Abstrak Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti motif niat pengguna Islam terhadap pembelian susu kambing di Malaysia. Kajian lepas yang berkaitan telah dibincangkan dan dua sesi perbincangan kumpulan berfokus melibatkan 10 orang pengguna Islam yang membeli susu kambing telah dijalankan. Penemuan awal dari kajian kualitatif ini menunjukkan bahawa faktor kesihatan dan harga memainkan peranan penting dalam niat pengguna Islam untuk membeli susu kambing. Tiga lagi motif niat pengguna Islam terhadap pembelian susu kambing adalah rasa, agama dan khasiat. Cadangan untuk kajian masa depan disediakan pada bahagian akhir artikel.

Due to their religious obligations, Muslims strongly believe that halal food ingredients are crucial to protecting their health and faith. As a result, the halal food ingredient industry is growing very rapidly. This review focuses on the latest trends and advancements involving halal food ingredients. In this review, halal certification and the standards governing the production of halal ingredients are discussed. The latest technological developments for authenticating and tracking halal components are also brought up in this review. It addresses the impact of halal ingredient manufacturing on the environment, promotes social responsibility, and places emphasis on procuring ingredients sustainably and ethically. It also examines customer awareness and preferences and the marketing of halal food ingredient brands. In conclusion, this study analyses the current condition of halal food ingredients and emphasises the importance of continuous improvement and adaptation to fulfil the requirements set out by the customers. By navigating the market for halal food ingredients, those involved should ensure that Muslim customers everywhere have access to items that are authentic and in compliance with relevant standards.

Food is not just to satisfy one’s desires, but it is a way of maintaining one’s health and constantly striving to worship Allah. While the concept of eating as medicine is not new, Islam had already given guidelines on eating food through the Qur’an and Sunnah from the Prophet and the companions. In Islam, the concept of eating is based on halal and toyyib, which describes eating permissible and wholesome food according to Islamic principles. However, Muslims nowadays ignore this concept, which is taking tolls on their daily lives, making them mentally and physically unhealthy. Islam emphasises food intake because of the significant impact it may have on physical and mental well-being and the soul of an individual. The types of diet in line with Islamic teaching are also described from the practice of the Prophets. The information is collected using Scopus and Google Scholar databases in addition to the primary two sources: the Qur’an and Sunnah. The reported evidence from Qur’an and Sunnah were from trusted sources, and references are provided. The contribution of this article is to set guidelines to achieve a balanced lifestyle by consuming halal and toyyib, deriving that from prophetic practices.
