Knowledge modeling fore-agriculture using ontology

Abstract: Agriculture is considered to be the backbone of the country's economy. The emergence of ICT in the last few years has opened new challenges in the field of knowledge management concerning to distribution, sharing and integration. It is true that a lot of good practices related to agriculture are transferred without being well documented so most part of these practices remain tacit rather than explicit. Therefore, it is necessary to effectively manage knowledge for future generations before it disappears as a r… Show more

“…In the formalized description of knowledge regarding the IAS citizen sciences, through the use of ontologies it is necessary to take into account the possibility of including an explicit evaluation procedure, as without a well-structured one it will be difficult to assess the suitability of developed models in related research and their practical application [12]. Ontologies provide the necessary basis for the proper operation of semantic network-based applications -technologies that can provide instructions and clear rules in the processes of data collection, integration and use [13] in IAS citizen sciences initiatives.…”

“…A knowledge management system for agriculture particularly for a wheat crop a novel approach that oracle supports RDF (Resource description framework) and OWL to present meaningful knowledge to the usage. The average rating provided by the expert by evaluating the ontology model vs the traditional knowledge management model is very much greater in comparison with the knowledge model [13].…”

“…The system they built can be used in different ways like reusing, extending, modifying and pruning [12]. Well-maintained practices in agriculture are maintained or acknowledged and shared for the betterment of agricultural practices [13]. A domain ontology named agricultural online service was developed by keeping knowledge sharing as the main idea of agriculture which supported a multi-linguistic approach [14].…”
