Knowledge mapping and current trends of global research on CRISPR in the field of cancer

Abstract: Background: Gene editing tools using clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) and CRISPR-related systems have revolutionized our understanding of cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution, collaboration, and direction of cancer research using CRISPR.Methods: Data from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database were collected from 4,408 cancer publications related to CRISPR from 1 January 2013to 31 December 2022. The obtained data were analyzed using VO… Show more

“…They peaked in 2022, rising from 1603 to 3125 citations, suggesting that research on CRISPR/Cas9 applications in Environmental Biotechnology has accelerated steadily. This sustained increase in citations from 2020 may suggest a growing recognition and acceptance of CRISPR/Cas9 applications in Environmental Biotechnology [126]. The peak in 2022 could indicate that technological advances, significant discoveries, or an increasing awareness of the possibilities of CRISPR/Cas9 may have contributed to this positive trend [127][128][129], indicating a promising period for future research in this area.…”
