The applicability of manufacturing planning and control methods differs between environments. This paper explains the fit between the planning environment and material and capacity planning on the detailed material planning and shop-floor planning levels. The study is based on a conceptual discussion and a survey of 84 Swedish manufacturing companies. Results show the use of planning methods and their levels of user satisfaction in complex customer order production, configure to order production, batch production of standardized products and repetitive mass production, respectively.

The working environment in the pipeline is getting worse, and there are more and more functional needs for the pipeline robots. The traditional pipeline robot structure is fixed and single, and the rapid design and assembly cannot be realized. There are still problems of repeated design between different types of robots.In view of these problems, a top-down modular design method—combining of axiom design and IDEF(ICAM DEFinition method) functional modeling is proposed to divide the pipeline robot system architecture.This method uses the mapping relationship between function and structure, and extracts the general modules and special modules in different types of pipeline robot systems, which realizes the modular design of the non-modular pipeline robot, so that the module structure at its component level can be universally exchanged to form resource sharing.

To completely describe a manufacturing system, several models are usually created, each from a different viewpoint Traditionally, these models are created independently using different methodologies and in different environments. This approach poses many problems, for example, time-consuming, inconsistency between models. difficulties in model maintenance, difficulties in ensuring a seamless transition in the system development life cycle, etc .. To overcome t11ese problems, a comprehensive methodology tenned IDEF* has been developed for the modelling of enterprise systems. The purpose of this paper is to introduce to the readers the features and concepts of t11e met11odology.
