Knee Arthrodesis Using the Wichita Fixation Rod

Abstract: For patients with a failed total knee replacement that is unsalvageable, only few treatment options remain. Knee arthrodesis is a valuable alternative to amputation in these cases. Several fusion techniques have been described, including external fixation, plate and screw osteosynthesis, and intramedullary rods.
