Klisura/Rozino granite, Central Sredna Gora: a part of the story of late Permian–Early Triassic extensional magmatic event

Abstract: Тhe late- to post-Variscan magmatic activity in the South Black See region took plaсe during a considerably long period of ca. 80 from Late Carboniferous up to Early–Mid Triassic as two episodes are distinguished. The obtained age of 253.6±1.6 Ma for the Klisura/Rozino granite gives further evidence of the contemporaneous intrusive and extrusive magmatism during late Permian and Early Triassic in the Sredna Gora and Balkan zones.

“…These are the basic to acid volcanics and volcaniclastics in the Moesian platform (Chunev, 1968), the granitoids intruding the lower Paleozoic Ograzhden-Vertiskos Unit of the Serbo-Macedonian Massif (e.g. Himmerskus et al, 2009;Poli et al, 2009;Peytcheva et al, 2009, and references therein), the granites in the Central Srednogorie Zone (Balkanska et al, 2021;Lazarova et al, 2021), the protoliths of orthogneisses in the Rhodopes (Marchev et al, 2019 and references therein), the granitoids in Sakar and Strandzha (Bonev et al, 2021 and references therein), the granites and volcanic rocks in the Carpathians (e.g., Ondrejka et al, 2021 and references therein) continuing to the Alps (Huang et al, 2022 and references therein). Some of these rocks show clear A-type affinity, while the others belong to I and S type.…”
