Klatsche oder Kantersieg? Framesemantische Analysen zur Perspektivierung in Fußballspielberichten

Abstract

This paper deals with perspectivation as a central means of biased football coverage on the web-sites of individual football clubs of the German Bundesliga from a frame-semantic point of view. Based on an aligned corpus of 582 football match reports, with two texts on the same event from different perspectives, it is shown how and by which linguistic means the course of the match and individual scenes are framed differently on the websites of the winning and the losing team. Using both quantitative methods like keyword analysis and automated frame-semantic annotation and qualitative methods it is demonstrated that different framings of the same events and scenes allow for different evaluations. Since football match reports have to display the authors’ football expertise, this expertise consists not least of the ability to convey evaluations in coherent and comprehensible ways.
