Abstract: Objectives: The study aimed to isolate coumarin compound from Bauhinia purpurea bark. Method: The bark was extracted successively with methanol in a soxhlet apparatus. The crude mass was subjected to HPLC, as well as column chromatography and eluted with methylene dichloride -methanol system with increasing methanol ratio to isolate compound BP.
