Kinetics of SARS-CoV-2 anti-S IgG after BNT162b2 vaccination

Abstract: Deployment of the BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 Vaccine in Israel began in December 2020. This is a retrospective analysis of serological data, showing SARS-CoV-2 anti-S IgG kinetics in 116 Israeli health care workers receiving BNT162b2. Sero-conversion occurred in 14 days in all study participants, with IgG levels peaking approximately 30 days after initiation of the vaccination series. A statistically significant difference was observed in IgG levels between subjects younger than 50… Show more

“…A great number of studies have explored the waning or persistence of antibodies elicited to other vaccination platforms. 31 , 32 , 33 , 34 , 35 , 36 However, to our knowledge, this is the first report to show the immune response persistence 180 dpv with SPUTNIK V.…”

“…Notably, plasma samples from RA patients were collected at a significantly shorter time after the second vaccine dose relative to the healthy controls ( Fig. 1A ); the plasma sampling time for the RA patients was also closer to the reported peak in antibody titres following BNT162b2 vaccination [ 16 ].…”

“…1B ). Despite the fact that plasma samples from the RA patients were taken closer to the reported peak in antibody titres following BNT162b2 vaccination [ 16 ], the levels of anti-spike IgG titres were significantly lower in the JAK inhibitor–treated RA patients in comparison with untreated healthy individuals ( Fig. 1B and C ).…”

“…Fewer studies have looked specifically at serologic response of the vaccinated population. Most of the studies based on vaccinated populations reported ≈100% seroconversion rates but had short follow-up periods ( 12 , 13 ). Serologic levels were much higher among the vaccinated population than those convalescing after infection ( 12 ) and among those <50 years of age ( 13 ).…”

Serologic levels were much higher among the vaccinated population than those convalescing after infection ( 12 ) and among those <50 years of age ( 13 ). In a case‒control study of PCR-positive case-patients divided by previous vaccination status (yes/no), Lopez-Bernal et al ( 8 ) found that those vaccinated (2 doses) with the BNT162b2 vaccine and were infected with the Alpha variant achieved 93.7% vaccine effectiveness rate compared with an 88% vaccine effectiveness rate for those infected with the Delta variant.…”
