“…These latter complexation reactions were significantly slower than the electron transfer reactions [201]. In another study, the reduction of the cobalt(III) complex, [Co III (HL)]•9H 2 O (where H4L = 1,8-bis(2-hydroxybenzamido)-3,6-diazaoctane) by GSH was studied by conventional spectrophotometry in acidic media [202]. The final products were determined to be the corresponding Co(II) complex and GSSG [202].…”

“…The bands at 1346 cm -1 (w) and 1305 cm -1 are ascribed to the O-H bending and νstr(C=O) of co-ordinated phenolic groups and those at 833 and 750 cm -1 are assigned to the (1,2)disubstituted aromatic moiety. The bands at 1091, 1026, 914 cm -1 (CH2-rocking) and prominent peaks at 1487 and 1383 cm -1 due to CH2 deformation vibration are concomitant with the unsymmetrical array of diene spacer unit [32].…”

“…In continuation of our earlier work on the redox reaction of GSH and cobalt(III) complex of hexadentate phenol-amide ligand [32], we report herein the synthesis and characterization of a Co(III) complex, [Co III (HL)(H2O)] with a pentadentate ligand 1,5-bis(2-hydroxybenzamido)-3-aza pentane (H3L) and its redox activity with GSH. The objective behind this study is to explain the ligand substitution dynamics of [Co III (HL)] with GSH, to distinguish the reactive species, characterize reaction products and to establish the rate law and construe a plausible mechanism.…”
