Abstract:Coal gasification consists of coal pyrolysis and gasification of the pyrolysis products. During gasification gas/gas-, liquid/gas-and solid gas reactions can occur. All three types of reactions are treated, discussion of the heterogeneous solid/gas reaction between coal char and the gasification media (C02" H20, H2) is restricted to the surface reactions, transport phenomena are widely neglected. Some remarks on experimental procedures for studying coal gasification are additionally given.
“…However, it is worthy to remark that every model tends to be specific and its general applicability is limited [28,29]. Therefore, a screening test was made for the models presented in Table 1, from which the best result was obtained for the traditional model (#4).…”
HIGHLIGHTS:8 -CO2 gasification reactivity of charcoals is strongly influenced by carbonization pressure 9 -Larger charcoal particle size results in lower CO2 gasification reactivity

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
