Abstract:Metastasis is the primary cause of cancer related mortality and morbidity. The circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are shed by epithelial-origin tumors, intravasate assisted by tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and travel with blood. A few CTCs extravasate and seed metastasis.
