Abstract:In this work, the kinetics of oxidation of Ethylenediamine and Ethanolamine by Potassium Ferrate (VI) has been studied by using stop –flow spectrometer under alkaline media. The results show that the oxidation-reduction reaction is a first-order to reactant and a negative fraction order to [OH-]. A convincing mechanism involving a slow response as the rate-controlling step is proposed and the rate equations derived from the mechanism was shown to fit all the experimental observations. The rate constants of the… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
