β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) inclusion complex containing geranyl acetone as a guest was prepared by saturated water solution method. Furthermore, the structure and properties of the inclusion complex were studied. The formation of the inclusion complex was demonstrated by. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (X-RD), thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The thermodynamic analysis of the inclusion complex showed that the inclusion reaction is an endothermic spontaneous reaction. The average of △H, △S and △G is 11.66 kJ mol −1 , 0.082 kJ mol −1 and − 14.49 kJ mol −1 , respectively. Moreover, the kinetic analysis of thermal decomposition of the inclusion compound showed that the thermal decomposition reaction is a first-order reaction (the inclusion ratio is 1:1), the average activation energy of the reaction is 180.90 kJ mol −1 , and the binding force in the inclusion compound is mainly Van der Waals force. The flavor test of cigarettes showed that the inclusion compound improved the stability of geranyl acetone and the sensory quality of cigarettes. This study improves the solubility and thermal stability of geranyl acetone, and provides theoretical support and technical guidance for expanding the application of geranyl acetone.

β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) is an oligosaccharide composed of seven units of D-(+)-glucopyranose joined by α-1,4 bonds, which is obtained from starch. Its singular trunk conical shape organization, with a well-defined cavity, provides an adequate environment for several types of molecules to be included. Complexation changes the properties of the guest molecules and can increase their stability and bioavailability, protecting against degradation, and reducing their volatility. Thanks to its versatility, biocompatibility, and biodegradability, β-CD is widespread in many research and industrial applications. In this review, we summarize the role of β-CD and its derivatives in the textile industry. First, we present some general physicochemical characteristics, followed by its application in the areas of dyeing, finishing, and wastewater treatment. The review covers the role of β-CD as an auxiliary agent in dyeing, and as a matrix for dye adsorption until chemical modifications are applied as a finishing agent. Finally, new perspectives about its use in textiles, such as in smart materials for microbial control, are presented.

The in uence of Ketoconazole and β-CD/Ketoconazole was previously reported on cotton fabric as fungal skincare; however, the impact of nanosilver on the antifungal and antibacterial properties of the same products is unknown. Here, silver NPs were synthesized on β-CD/KZ composites and then attached to the cotton using a cross-linking agent. The nanocomposites and treated fabrics were analyzed by UVvis, dynamic light scattering (DLS), zeta-potential and FE-SEM. The drug delivery and cytotoxicity of the products were also studied. The nanocomposites antimicrobial e ciency was examined on Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger as fungi and E. coli & S. aureus as bacteria. The synthesis of Ag-NPs on the β-CD/KZ ampli es both antifungal and antibacterial e ciencies. This also extends the drug regular release time for medical and drug delivery purposes. Having tremendous antimicrobial activities without cytotoxicity effects and regular release time of drug with excellent washing durability of treated samples make it suitable for medical applications likewise wound dressings and sportswear designed for sensitive skin.
