Kerentanan Air Tanah di Kawasan Pertanian Garam Pesisir Pademawu, Madura berdasarkan Karakteristik Hidrogeokimia dan Indeks Kualitas Air

Abstract: ABSTRAK Kawasan pesisir Pademawu yang beralih fungsi menjadi pusat pertanian garam menimbulkan beberapa dampak negatif yang salah satunya adalah permasalahan kerentanan sumber daya air tanah. Fasie… Show more

“…The Ca content is higher than the SO4 ion content, and the Cl content is more than Na. Generally, HCO3 in groundwater systems indicates the type of fresh water, while higher Cl-concentrations are influenced by seawater in coastal areas [26].This is also supported by the relatively low electrical conductivity value with an average of 512 μmhos/cm, indicating that the sample is freshwater [27]. The groundwater tested in this study is included in the bicarbonate category because it has the dominant ion, namely HCO3[28].…”

“…The value of Cl determined the anion compound predominating the study area with an average of 453.84 mg/L in 2015. The maximum Cl concentration was observed throughout Pademawu coastline where salt drying pond area does exist (Gemilang & Bakti, 2019). This makes a consideration that the origin of Cl is yielded from salt deposit infiltrating groundwater and caused by other anthropogenic activities ( Selvam et al, 2018).…”

“…Based on the correlation between TDS vs Cl, TDS vs HCO3, and Na vs Cl, it showed a strong relationship with a correlation value almost 1. Therefore, it is interpreted that the groundwater in the study area is highly influenced by seawater yielded from salt pond infiltration (Gemilang & Bakti, 2019). The amount of adsorbed water to the surface of earth mainly relies on rainfall intensity, soil permeability, and land use type (Gopinath et al, 2021).…”

“…The Pademawu Subdistrict is the center of salt farming area because of its gentle slope and proximity to the beach, allowing the seawater to easily transfer to the salt ponds via tidal fluctuations (Efendy et al 2014). The rapid transformation from land into salt ponds triggers several adaptations, such as groundwater pollution and salinization (Citrayati et al 2008), which impact the deteriorating quality of the water consumed by local communities (Gemilang and Bakti 2019).…”
