Intl J Bonorowo Wetlands 11: 48-63. The Bajo tribe are originally sea nomads, living in eastern Indonesia, South Philippines and North Borneo. They are identified by their marine culture and sama language. They have similarities with the Orang Laut tribe in western Indonesia and the Moken tribe in the Mergui Archipelago in terms of exploring the seas. Today, most Bajo ethnic groups no longer wander on houseboat and live in a certain place, although they still preserve maritime culture, they have similar social and cultural features, including shared shipbuilding and fishing, traditions, beliefs and myths. The Bajo tribe who live from marine natural resources have a close relationship with the marine and coastal environment, so that it raises the values of environmental concern in maintaining the sea and coast. This study aims to determine the environmental conservation of the Bajo tribe based on their beliefs. The Bajo tribe is one of the tribal communities that manage, maintain and utilize marine biological resources based on cultural norms and values that have been institutionalized and attached to the Bajo community, and are maintained through social control based on their belief system. This belief brings the Bajo people to fear breaking the taboo or pamali that has existed since their ancestors orally and from generation to generation. The Bajo people have wisdom to protect the marine environment, namely corals, mangroves, and marine resources. They have a high concern for preserving coral reefs as a buffer for the underwater ecosystem, and they are very aware of the need to preserve the sources that are the basis of their livelihood fulfillment.

Reef fish in Spelman strait, Indonesia, is one of the fishery resources of considerable economic value. Unfortunately, there is still the use of unfriendly resources equipment (destructive fishing) that cause potential social problems. In this study, all components of the EAFM (Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management) composed of 6 domains, namely (1) fish stocks, (2) environment and ecosystem, (3) fishing techniques, (4) culture, (5) social, and (6) institutional are analyzed combining with MDS (Multidimensional Scaling). The main aim of this research is to find out the root solution for managing coral reefs in the coastal waters of Spelman Strait. The sustainability status review in the fishery resource domain, the environment and ecosystem domain, the fishery technique domain, the social domain, and the economic domain were respectively were 87.69, 88.17, 51.22, 51.61, and 72.67 which were in the category sustainable. Meanwhile, the sustainability status review in the institutional domain was 42.15, which was in the category of less sustainable. Institutions are the primary base for reef fishery protection in the Spelman Strait.

This study operates the descriptive qualitative method by interviewing, observing, and documenting, as a data collection technique. The purpose of this study is to uncover aspects of religious moderation in the oral traditions of the Bajau tribe in Wakatobi and use it as a database for the development of religious moderation based on local wisdom. The research carried out in Bajau Mola Wakatobi Village found that one of Bajau's oral traditions namely Iko-Iko is a literary genre that contains moral messages, in the integration of religion and culture that every delivery is always able to make the hearts of the listeners' thrill. The dynamic Iko-Iko makes it socially sensitive and can be used as resolution literature. Its contents, among others, encourage balance and respect for fellow human beings, regardless of religion or ethnicity. the concept of moderation for the Bajau in principle has been immanent in their society. His form can be in the form of 'sabbar dikarimanang ele papu Allah Taala baka Nabi Muhammad' (patient in the sense of self-control as submission to God and guiding the Prophet), Situluh, Sipagenne, Sipalele (spreading sympathy), and Sikarimanang (spreading affection). The implication of this study is to obtain locality data and information that are full of meaning in the context of the community's oral traditions which can be used as religious moderation teaching materials.
