Abstract:Abstract. Starch is a carbohydrate which is a glucose polymer consisting of amylose and amylopectin. One source of starch is from sago plants and taro belitung. Starch in the pharmaceutical field can be used as a binder, disintegrant, filler, lubricant. The physicochemical properties of starch can be improved by modification.
