Abstract

Recovery of innate immunity precedes humoral and cell mediated immunity. This may be due to loss of pre-existing memory T-cells, leading to a deficit in the acquired immune response to infections including vaccine preventable infections like tetanus, measles, diphtheria, influenza and pneumococcal pneumonia [4].
